Karen
trained at the Betty Laine Theatre Arts and has gone on to perform and
choreograph in television and theatre productions all over the world. Her
most recent work includes Associate Director with Arlene Phillips on BLACK
GOES WITH EVERYTHING, director/choreographer on RHYTHM’S OF THE CITY for
Princess Cruises, associate choreographer on SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (London
Palladium & Minskoff Theatre, New York), assistant director/
choreographer on EFX (Las Vegas MGM Grand) both with Arlene Phillips and
director/choreographer on FAME (Cambridge Theatre, UK Tour and Oslo
Stadium). Karen
is currently working on 2 new shows for Princess Cruises, to premiere in
October 2000 aboard the Grand Princess 1 and February 2001 aboard the
Grand Princess II, respectively. She
worked as an assistant to Arlene Phillips on GREASE (Dominion Theatre,
London and National Tour) and has assisted many other choreographers
including Wayne Sleep and Tommy Tune.
Karen has assisted and choreographed numerous corporate events,
hair and trade shows. Karen
worked extensively with Richard Sampson on projects such as the 1993/94
Olivier Awards, OLIVER! (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield), THE COLE PORTER
CENTENARY GALA, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR IN CONCERT and the FEDERATION CUP. As
assistant director Karen has worked on ANNIE (Crucible, Sheffield), THE
MAGIC OF THE MUSICALS – HOLLYWOOD AND BROADWAY, THE GREATEST SHOW IN
TOWN (Bournemouth), STAIRWAY TO THE STARS, HELLO DOLLY! and MY ONE AND
ONLY (London Palladium) in which she had the opportunity to work with such
stars as Chita Rivera, Lorna Luft, Rita Moreno, Geogia Brown, Bertice
Reading, Gloria De Haven and the Nicholas Brothers. Her
television credits include HEAD OVER HEELS (Carlton), THE PAUL DANIELS
MAGIC SHOW, THE LES DENNIS LAUGHTER SHOW and THE LISA MAXWELL SERIES (all
BBC). |
